What do you get when you combine travel, medicine, and a pandemic?

The new U.S. Travel Association guidelines for the travel industry(opens in a new tab) and they’re no joke. These guidelines cover every possible scenario and give you the best practices to keep you and your guests safe.

Arguably the most important thing to consider is transmission barriers. The more barriers you have, and the more effective they are, the better the chances that your staff and guests will be safe. These guidelines list seven ways that you can reduce contact and transmission while open for business. They’re not all a great fit for tour operators, they were written with the entire industry in mind, but everyone can benefit from tips like, “Travel businesses should consider implementing touchless solutions, where practical, to limit the opportunity for virus transmission while also enabling a positive travel experience.” and the six procedures they suggest can be made touchless.

It’s important to implement these strategies, but it is also important to tell your customers(opens in a new tab). Your staff will certainly be happy to hear that you have considered how to keep them safe as they get back to work. However, your customers need to know that you have a plan to keep them safe or they may reconsider booking with you.
